Retelling a story (Raconter de nouveau l'histoire)

When you retell a story, start with:

Au début, ....      (In the beginning, .... )

Puis ....                                  (Then .... )

Ensuite, ....                    (Afterward .... )

À la fin, ....                    (At the end, .... )

 

It is important that there is a logical sequence in the telling or writing of a story.

Questions to ask when reading a book

These are the questions we need to ask ourselves when we read a book:

Qui ?           Who?

Quand?         When?

Où                   Where?

Comment?      How? 

Pourquoi?      Why? 

By getting the answers to those questions, it becomes easy to understand the story.

Teach your child the habit to ask those questions whenever they read a story book.
